Holidays in Cumbria & Southern Lakes
This area of Cumbria is well placed for painting at Lake Windermere (Fell Foot Park, Newby Bridge and Lakeside) as well as
Lake Coniston. There is some stunning scenery all around and some great villages including Hawkshead, Cartmel (inc
Priory), Cark and Grange-over-Sands where the hotel is based which has panoramic views of Morecombe Bay. There is
also Holker Hall and Sizergh Castle, Kendal nearby and plenty of villages in the Leven Valley at the southern end of Lake
Windermere.
It goes without saying that Cumbria & The Southern Lake District is the perfect place to bring your non-painting partner as
there are all sorts of outdoor activities from the gentile boat trips and walk along the shores of the lakes to a whole array of
outdoor activities including hill walking/trekking, horse riding, rock climbing, canoeing, sailing, golfing and many more.
