Summary

Join Keith Hornblower on this exciting opportunity to paint in an

absolutely delightful place in the Western Algarve.

Details

The Algarve is well known for it's amazing light conditions and vibrant

colours from the vivid blue skies and turquoise waters to it's lush green

and colourful vegetation as well as the rustic tiled and coloured

traditional buildings.

The Western Algarve is more rural, rustic and peaceful than the hustle

and bustle of the Central Algarve with it's sleepy harbours, quiet

mountain villages and un-spoilt coastline.

The holiday will be based in Caldas De Monchique where we will paint the

traditional Portuguese architecture, cobbled streets lined with deciduous

trees and dappled sunlight.

We will also visit other inland places such as the National Park of Sitio Das

Fontes with its streams, ponds and quaint buildings plus the historic city

of Silves with its castle.

We will also visit the Algarve coast and paint around places such as Lagos

Marina, Luz and the fishing village of Burgau.

He will begin each day with a quick demonstration, preferably on

location, to inspire and fire the imagination and will then spend his time

tutoring and encouraging you in your own work. The emphasis is on

having fun, trying new things and not being afraid to mess up! Keith

believes that we learn from our mistakes and he admits to throwing

away as many works as he keeps. Using a simple colour palette he will

show you how to use tonal values to bring your work to life.
