Paul Talbot Greaves
Paul trained at Huddersfield College of Art in the mid 1980s and then
worked in the art department for a firm of printers. He always knew he
would be involved with art, right from being a small child. He never
stopped painting and in 1998 he turned professional, concentrating on
watercolour as his main medium and later included acrylic as a second
medium.
During his painting career he has been made a Companion of the
International Guild of Artists, an Associate of the British Watercolour
Society, a Professional Associate and advisory panellist of the SAA,
president of the Halifax Art Society, as well as an advisory panellist for
Artists and Illustrators magazine.
In 2013 he won Best in Show at Holmfirth Artweek and has exhibited twice in the Sunday Times Watercolour
Competition. In 2017 he won both 'The Artist' award and the 'Canson' award at Patchings art festival, Nottingham.
He is a regular contributor to The Artist magazine and has four art books published to date - Watercolour for starters,
30 Minute Landscapes, 30 Minute Landscapes in Watercolour and Painting Landscapes in Watercolour. He has also
contributed towards four other books in the UK and US.
He has been tutoring courses and giving art demonstrations on the subject of watercolour and acrylic painting for over
20 years.
