Summary

Join Chris Forsey on this opportunity to paint Castles and Canals of the Usk

Valley plus landscapes of Monmouthshire

Details

We will paint along the Brecon and Monmouth Canal at places such as

Goytre Wharf, Castles such as Caldicott and/or Raglan, bridges such as

the Monnow Bridge in Monmouth plus Welsh Heritage Sites such as

Blaenavon Ironworks with its traditional cottages and remnants of an

industrial past. The grounds around the hotel with the lake, reflections,

streams and trees with their dappled sunlight make for a great subject as

well as painting landscapes, valleys and lakes giving plenty of variety of

painting subjects.

Chris is a very experienced painter and enthusiastic teacher, mostly

specialising in landscape subjects. He has a distinctive style in his work,

with atmosphere, light and colour of great importance. He uses

demonstration and one-to-one teaching approaches to help the student

understand how to explore a free and expressive approach in their own

work using combinations of water-based media.
