Nicki Saunders is a self-taught artist based in Norwich, Norfolk specialising

in watercolour as she find this medium can be seductively subtle yet

exciting and eye-catching. Early on in her painting career, she favoured

flower painting. Being able to capture a likeness and radiance of a flower

was inspiring and captivating to me. Over the years she has been drawn

to many subjects and has since expanded her subject matter to cover a

variety of subjects and this includes a variety of styles too. Instinctively

she is a detailed painter with some pieces almost achieving photographic

realism but she also loves the freedom of loose work which gives an

abstract feel to the finished work.

Nicki has been painting for over 30 years and teaching through various means including private classes, one-day

workshops, visiting art groups as a guest tutor and running local Adult Education Courses. During her time at Adult

Education, she achieved a PTTLS teaching qualification.

She also works with various other media, including Acrylic paints, Acrylic Inks, soft pastels, watercolour pens and pencils,

graphite & coloured pencils, inks and more recently, Brusho Crystals. Adding these media to watercolour paintings can

create amazing results.
