Key Details

The Vale of Usk covers Monmouthshire and Abergavenny where there are plenty of castles such as Caldicott and Raglan as

well as Goytre Wharf along the Brecon and Monmouth Canal. There are Welsh Heritage sites such as Blaenavon ironworks

and the Big Pit National Coal Musuem which have an abundance of diverse painting material. There is also some beautiful

countryside in the Usk Valley with lakes, forests and panoramic views around Abergavenny. In particular there are some

cracking views of the Sugar Loaf Mountain & The Brecon Beacons from Keepers Pond high up on a mountain pass between

Abergavenny and Blaenavon on the edge of the Brecon Beacons. There are also painting opportunities in Monmouth itself

including the Monnow Bridge.

Key Details


Arrival is from 2pm on the arrival date and the course introduction is at 6pm on the arrival date.


We will leave the hotel at 9.30am each morning, have lunch around 1pm and finish at 4.30pm each day.


The course finishes at 4pm on the departure date.


The deposit is £225 per person for 4 and 5 day holidays (£175 for 3 day holidays).


Most courses cater for all abilities. However, if you are a complete beginner please call to discuss the best choice for you.


For a small additional charge you can have all Art Materials provided for use only on your holiday. Please see Key Details above for more information on pricing and what is included for each medium.


Art Equipment is available and included in the price such as Easels, Chairs and Boards but please indicate on your booking form if you require these so that we can make sure we have enough available.


Prices exclude travel insurance.


You need to ensure that you have sufficient travel insurance for ALL holidays with us including the UK, Jersey & the EU. We cannot be held responsible for any guest not having sufficient travel insurance for their requirements.
