Summary

Join Steve Bretel on this exciting opportunity to paint in Jersey where we

will paint some beautiful coastal scenes and harbours.

Holiday Details

The holiday is based at St Brelade's Bay Hotel, a beautiful 4-star hotel

with it's own private beach front garden and private access to the beach

making it a great place to stay. We can paint in the gardens or on the

beach and there are plenty of boats, a nearby beautiful old church on the

sea front near to the small harbour. There are also great panoramic views

of the bay that can be seen from the restaurant, the dedicated function

room and many of the bedrooms.

We will paint a wide range of subjects including a selection of St. Brelade's

Bay, St Aubin's Harbour, Gorey Castle & Harbour, La Corbiere Lighthouse,

La Rocq & Le Hocq as well as Rozel Bay and Bouley Bay on the north coast

and more.

About the Tutor

Steve is full of enthusiasm about painting and teaching. He loves the

challenge and expressiveness of watercolour especially, and would like

everyone to experience this excitement.

Each day will start with an introduction to the subject and a half-hour

demonstration to the group, then regular one to one demonstrations

given throughout the day as required. Steve will show the importance of

making sketches and values studies before deciding on compositions, and

will cover the underpinning theory, as well as the practice of every aspect

needed. Each day will conclude with sharing and reviewing participant's

work, leading to individual action plans for development at each of the

following sessions and for after the course ends.
